- A friend of mine just got a 486DX 50Mhx system that came with the
- 24X graphics card. He's been having problems with some games. For example,
- when playing Falcon 3.0, during the intro and during play, the screen flickers
- to a screen of garbage. Its usually just a quick flash and then back to the
- correct screen, but sometimes the screen just turns to garbage and stays that
- way. Well, not total garbage, you can see that the garbage is influenced by
- what was on the screen, like the resolution suddenly switched to CGA or
- something. Also, when using some of the SVGA modes with Windows (using
- the X24's windows drivers, while in paintbrush, I noticed that when you
- draw a circle some of it will appear a few lines high than it should.
- We ran some of the tests that came with it, and in some modes, the rectangles
- in the test pattern that should have had diagonal lines were messed up.
- Unfortunately the company that sold him the computer sent the manual for
- the Diamond vram board that they put in the computers before they switched to
- the X24, so that is no help. (we called tech support and they are sending the
- correct one, though I'm not to sure it will help any)
- All of the games were installed off the originals, so its not a bad hack or
- anything.
- Thanks for any help!
