- Right now I have a 386-33 with 4 1Mx9. (No 387)
- I want to move up to 8 Meg of RAM, but, to do so, I need to buy
- a $125 memory card + 4 meg, which means I can spend $270+SH to
- get a 386-33 with 8 meg of RAM.
-
- Or, I can spend $500 and get a Cyrix 486-33 motherboard with
- 4 Meg of RAM, insert my old RAM, and then I would have a
- 486-33 with 8 meg of RAM plus an old 386-33 motherboard, which I
- could maybe sell for $100, which means I can get a 486 with 8meg
- for $400.
-
- But, the salesman said the Cyrix chip's math coprocessor doesn't
- work completely.
-
- So, is it worth spending an extra $150 to get the Cyrix chip, which
- sounds kind of buggy ????? I need a reply from someone who actually
- owns one of these. Thanks ALOT for all help!
-
- P.S. The reason I ask is because this sounds to good to be true--
- so somethings gotta give. I just can't figure out what!
