- I'm trying to put together a PC system (mostly for gaming) and I'd like
- some opinions on the best way to get good (blazing!?) video performance.
- I'm a bit new to the PC world (coming over from the Amiga domain) so
- any advice would be appreciated.

- The system I want to get is a 486DX/50 with local bus and some kind of
- accelerator card (S3, Tseng, ATI...) but my I gather from the articles
- I've read that these are aimed at Windows and require special drivers
- that game software doesn't use (flame me if I'm wrong, please!). If this
- is the case, what would be the best way to get optimal video performance
- outside Windows?
