- Check out the Tripp-Lite Omni-450. Advantages: low cost, includes line
- conditioning, oversized batteries (expect >20 minutes backup time), delays
- for 5 seconds before switching back to A/C (_after_ recovery spikes have
- subsided).
- Disadvantages: rectangular wave form (but is this _really_ a big deal for
- a PC's switching power supply?), "equipment" appearance, heavy, not true
- on-line (unit is SPS, not true UPS).

- This unit has 4 outlets, and switches in ~2ms. I've been using its
- predecessor, the BC-450, since 1986; still on the original battery. I have
- had to replace one of its internal inline fuses, but that's it. I've never
- had a power related crash. My system is a 386/25 with a Sony CPD-1304(3?).
- I paid around $389 for it; I think the new ones are still under $400 (street).
