- I've heard of people having this problem before, but I dont remember if
- they managed to get a free fix for it.
- I suspect there could be several reasons/causes of this phenomena,
- including: driver chip problems (non-user fixable), broken circuit trace
- (user fixable, but not easy), and poor zebra strip contact (user-fixable,
- but may cause as many probs as it fixes).
-
- Assuming you have decided against paying big bucks for repair, and
- assuming you are the adventuresome type, like me (i.e. foolish), you
- might want to attempt to attack the zebra strip possibility - possibly
- the more practical of the aforementioned approaches.
-
- I have a document that entails how to take your hp apart (also avail at
- seq.uncwil.edu as /hp48/desc/openhp48.Z),and I can provide further info
- if you need it.
