- Perhaps I want to make use of features which are only present in
- X11R5, like the scalable fonts. Perhaps I would like to be able to
- have all the machines here running the same release of X11, and since
- I can get R5 running on all the rest, the HP is the odd one out.
- Perhaps I'd like to have a server with most of the known bugs fixed,
- rather than have to wait for a new OS release. Perhaps I don't want
- the bloated HP server, with all the HP extentions which I don't want
- or need. Perhaps I'd like to see a supposedly OPEN systems company
- actually telling people how to drive the hardware of the machines we
- bought. Perhaps I'm trying to wind you all up.
-
- At least the code isn't as "interesting" as the R3 server for s300
- machines...
-
- R5 is faster on all the other machines I've used it on, why shouldn't
- HPs benefit from that speedup too.
-
- (And not all R5 applications will work on R4 servers.)
