  12.    The subject says exactly what I want to do.   The man page for xdb
  13. does have a section on "Data Viewing and Modification Commands".   But
  14. there is no command to modify data described there at all.   dbx has
  15. "assign" to do that.   How is it done for xdb?  A debugger that
  16. doesn't allow changing value interactively seem to have only limited
  17. use.   If this cannot be done with xdb, is there a public domain
  18. interactive debugger I can get?  Maybe dbx?  I am trying to debug a
  19. FORTRAN program on HP 705 workstation running HP UX 8.07. Please reply
