I have an HP730 machine running HP-UX version 8.05 with 64 megabytes of RAM installed. The two main packes I ran on this machine are Spice versiov 3e2 and Mathematica versiov 2.X. In spite of the large amounts of memory installed, I cannot do a large simulation run with spice. It runs of memory and it seems to occur woth a call to the C library routine realloc. Realloc 4K or 10K of memory fails on even simple circuits with longs simulation run.
The second problem is, running two copies of spice seems to interfere with one another. The same problem of interference also occur this running spice and mathematica when spice is invoked from within Mathematica. Spice or Mathematica seems to alter the environment of the other. The end result is that, after leaving one of the programs, running a graphics plot from the program doesn't work anymore.
If anyone has encountered any of these problems I would like to hear about. Any solutions would also be very much appreciated.
