- Subject: has anyone configured a printer on an SGI to accept HP requests???

- i configured the SGI (the host w/ the printer) using hosts.lpd, lpd -l
- printcap and lprtolp and all that and set up the printer using the menu tools
- on the HP and

- what happens is the jobs gets spooled to the SGI but never enters the queue
- if i use the lpr facility on the SGI locally the only difference i see are
- that the control file (c*) have some different entries in them; remote
- printing from the HP to a VAX works fine (i didn't expect that!)

- its sooooooo close - because the files are being spooled over they just
- won't go into the queue!
