  12. The only way I know of is to set HOSTALIASES environment variable
  13. to /etc/hosts.  This way of DNS times out (from /etc/resolv.conf)
  14. it will fall back to /etc/hosts.  Sorry, but that seems to be on
  15. a per-user basis.  So system processes are out-of-luck.
