  22. I'm amazed you managed to get it to work this much. The s800 disc driver does
  23. a device ident on the disc on the first-access-after-powerup. It then uses
  24. this to learn the section size table from a "precanned" data table hard-coded in
  25. the disc driver.
  26. No entry == no disc functionality. 
  27. Naturally HP only insert entries for HP disc drives. Your out-of-luck with
  28. your WREN drive on the s800 series.

  30. You should be able to attach the drive to an s700, then NFS mount it to
  31. the s800. (Ignoring the NFS irks and quirks of operation, as compared to
  32. direct connect disc).
