- Sounds like your yellow pages server is down/unreachable - we had this problem
- a LOT, and everytime the NIS server wasn't visible, the machine just gave up
- and hung most of the time, and certainly never allowed a console login with
- windows, as VUE likes to talk to the network during login for some reason...

- Solution ? well, HPUX 8.x is a little better than 7.x in that (in my
- experience) the machine won't hang during reboot if it can't find a YP server,
- but the only fix I could find to stop the machine dying regularly was to use
- /etc/resolv.conf for the nameserving stuff, and do away with ypbind completely.
