- Actually - and please bear in mind that this is MY opinion only, and not
- an Official Statement (tm) of HP or our safety/regulatory gurus - I suspect
- that AC cords have no securing mechanism because they're not allowed to, by
- one or more international standards. Think about it - we're talking about
- equipment which is generally not fixed in location. If someone moves said
- item, such that the line cord would be under a strain, which would be the
- *safer* scenario: to have the cord pull out at the product's AC input, or
- to have it break (while still "live")?

- Note that some fixed-location (i.e., big, heavy stuff that is generally bolted
- down and more often than not runs off of gobs of 220 VAC) are *prohibited*
- from having detachable AC cords!
