- We have a cluster of HP 720/730's running 8.07. We have a HP6400 2000DC DDS unit
- that we use for backing up. I have created a compressed driver for the DAT unit
- (54 0x2011c3) which appears to work.
-
- When we do backups via SAM the light indicators on the front panel flash giving
- the indication of dirty heads / hardware error but the backup appears to complete
- successfully (I have done many restores to prove this).
-
- Has anyone else had this problem with the compressed driver? The problem was not
- there when using the standard 0mn driver.
-
- Also, with the compressed driver, datinfo is reporting megabytes of free tape
- space left on the tape. How can you do subsequent backups on the same tape? Is it
- possible via SAM or is it only possible via the fbackup command?
-
- I have tried using the no-rewind driver via SAM but the tape rewinds and
- overwrites the previous backup data.
-
- Any help would be appreciated.

- Thanx
