- I am currently doing some work for a SGI customer and they wish to
- transfer
- data via modems to their supplier who uses DEC equipment.
-
- The supplier does not have SGI equipment and I have no intention of trying
- to sell them any! However, I am trying to find some software that would
- allow the UNIX based SGI machines to transfer files to these VAX systems.
-
- There are two possible locations for the modem. One is an old PDP11/44 and
- the other is a VAXStation 4000. I would be interested to hear what
- products
- are available for either platform to do file transfer over modems,
- particularly
- if they are geared towards communicating with UNIX machines,
- e.g. UUCP emulation.
-
- Please E-mail me with any recommended sources of this kind of product.
- Many thanks,
- Matthew
