- Dear Colleagues,
-
-
- We have recently bought a Wanrouter-500 Dec equipment. The router is
- connected to an ethernet and to X.25. On the ethernet we use DECNET and
- TCP/IP. A VAX 5100 (risc) machine is also connected to the network.
- Basically this configuration is typical in three other places in
- Hungary.
-
- Colleagues from DEC state the following:
- Either:
- the wanrouter software provides:
- PAD/X.25, DLM/X.25, OSI/X.25 directly.
- But (!) it cannot route TCP/IP over X.25 without the help of
- the VAX 5100 with the installation of a DECNET/IP gateway software.
- Or:
- The wanrouter provides:
- DLM/X.25, OSI/X.25, IP/X.25
- But there is no PAD (X.3, X.28, X.29) access at all.
-
- What we really wanted was or is:
- OSI/X.25, PAD/X.25, IP/X.25, Decnet(DLM)/X.25.
-
- We could either have DECNET or DECNET/OSI etc.
-
- Is anyone on the net who could clearify me the situation ?
-
-
- Kind regards:
- Istvan Tetenyi
