- I am trying to retrieve some data off of a bunch of old RK05 disk packs.
- Unfortunately, I am having to rebuild a machine from scratch to accomplish
- this feat. I have all of the hardware required, but no documentation on how
- to hook the RK05 disk drives to the machine (which happens to be a
- PDP8/A500). The entire system had been disassembled and placed in a corner
- of a basement for several years. A lot of the cables have been removed from
- the RK05s, and I don't know how to hook them up. Of course, all of the
- documentation for this system has long since disappeared into the trash.
-
- So, does anyone out there have the users manual or maintenance manual for
- the RK05 drives? Or, for that matter, does anyone have a users or
- maintenace manual for the PDP8/A500, or for any of the boards? If you want,
- I can supply you with all of the numbers and nomenclatures for the boards.
-
- I would appreciate any help you could give me. If I can't find out how to
- connect the drives, I may have to resort to randomly plugging the cables in
- (and risk the fire hazard).
-
- Thanks,
-
