  10. We have two MicroVAX systems running VMS 5.5 that we would like to
  11. connect so that mail can be exchanged easily between users of each
  12. system, despite the fact that the actual computers are several miles
  13. apart. We would like the system to be as transparent as possible, so
  14. that for the average user it would seem like the same machine, but
  15. failing that, something like sending mail to "THERE::JOE" wouldn't
  16. be too bad (and a vast improvement over no connection at all). Both
  17. machines are running DECnet, which is being used only for PATHWORKS
  18. for Macintosh at this time. Each machine has exactly one modem, and
  19. it would be nice if that modem wasn't tied up all the time.
