- I've got a C-64 here with some problems.
- When I power it up, I get the following: "?OUT OF MEMORY ERROR IN 0"
-
- If I do a "?FRE (I)", I get -621 back. Obviously there is either a
- memory problem, or a ROM problem.
-
- According to my ancient copy of the Commodore Diagnostician, I should
- check my RAMs. Anyone else had this problem before? Did it indeed turn
- out to be a RAM chip? Any hints on diagnosing/replacing individual RAM
- chips in a C-64.
-
- Thanks,
-

- P.S. Yes, I did check my power supply. First thing. It's just fine.
- However, this is a new power supply and an old console. I just bought
- the console (without PS) recently. So the old PS may have went bad and
- took out some chips. Don't know that for sure, but it's a possibility.
