  10. Seeing so much negative things about atari going around, I think it is time
  11. to tell you my good experience with their service.

  13. After being a 520 ST user for 6 years, I bought a MEGA STE last year.
  14. Like all other MEGA STE users then, I had those problems with the video
  15. shifter within several programs. One of the symptoms was that the screen
  16. flipped around: The .5" (1 cm) which should be at the right side was flipped
  17. to the left side.

  19. I reported about this on the net then. I even got a new video shifter chip
  20. from atari here and my local dealer replaced it. However, it did not help,
  21. the symptoms remained.

  23. At the Dusseldorfer messe I spoke with Atari BENELUX, and they told me that
  24. I needed TOS 2.06 to solve it. Suspicious as I was, I didn't want to pay
  25. for a problem in the machine which I reported already when the machine was
  26. still under warranty- besides, the new TOS 2.06 did not have so many new
  27. features for a TOS 2.05 user anyway.

  29. After a nice talk, the guy from atari asked my address and he said he would come
  30. back on it. Few days later, I received a letter, containing the 2.06 ROMS!

  32. And what's more...
  33. They did solve the screen problem!
