- Len;
-
- Although I personally don't hold out much hope for your success, I do
- wish you the best of luck. I do remember the Revolution and did
- take part in it. I even got some letter back from some of the companies
- I sent them to. They all seemed to say the same thing, "I'm not going to
- do Atari's job for them". This is once again doing Atari's job for them.
- Atari needs to advertise their product to the general public. I'm not
- talking about the few advertisements place in some of the professional
- musician magazines, nor am I talking about a few advertisements placed in
- some of the gaming magazines. What is needed to inform the general public
- about the wonderful qualities of the Atari computer is an indepth
- advertising campaign. This included newspaper ads, magazine ads, TV ads,
- radio ads, etc. Yes, this is very expensive, but if Atari Corporation is
- going to live on it is going to have to do this.
-
- I know for a fact that Atari developers are moving away from the Atari
- platform. I was talking to a developer who lives in Girade Ohio. He is
- in the process of porting all of his Atari programs to the IBM because,
- as he says, I can't make a living writing for Atari". Dr. T has just
- announced it is dropping all support for Atari, Hybrid Arts no longer exists
- (yes I know it has been purchased by Barefoot Software). The point is, if
- Atari would do its homework and advertise its computers to the general
- public we would be gaining developers, not losing them.
-
- Again, Good Luck with your campaign. I have downloaded my form and
- intend to fill it out and send it to you. If there is any further
- help that I can be in your quest please let me know. I have to advise
- you at the outset that I really don't hold out much hope of any
- success, but, as true Atarians we do have to try, don't we.......
