- Hi,
- I remember long ago hearing about the Phantom Typist. At the time I had
- never experienced any such thing, so foolhardy soul that I am, I ignored
- all the information about it. However, since I upgraded to Tos 1.4 (and at the
- same time I installed a D.E.K.A. and IBM keyboard) I have been having problems
- with the computer thinking that keys are being held down.
- Sometimes it doesn't happen at all, sometimes it happens quite frequently.
- It also does not seem to matter if I have used the keyboard at all. The
- favorite keys for this seem to be ALT and ESC. The latter is particularly
- annoying on the desktop, as it updates the windows many, many times before the
- buffer clears. As soon as I hit the repeating key for real, it stops. By the
- time I realize what is going on, however, there's usually quite a number of
- the character in the buffer. Anyways, does this sound like the Phantom
- Typist? If so, was there ever any solution discovered? Any help would be
- appreciated.
-
- Also, I was wondering if anyone has information on PowerDOS yet, like where it
- is available? I know that DragonWare is realising it as freeware, but do you
- have to get it from them? Or will it be available at anonymous sites? Or has
- there been no word yet? Am I simply rambling?
-
- Thanks in advance for any replies,
-
