- Ads in software? Okay! If you really want it. But just pushing the prices down
- a bit would certainly help. If you take a look at the "old days" with the
- Sinclair Spectrum and the C64, when a "normal" game would cost round seven
- to eight pounds sterling, and the most expencive ones would cost a maximum
- of 14.95 GBP, people were more likely to buy them. Nowadays, 14.95 is supposed
- to be a budget game!!! These games used to cost 2.5 GBP, which is the average
- price of a disk from a PD library nowadays.
- Who do you think sell the most software? PD libraries or any softwr. company?
- To make people continue buying from the software companies, they try BIG
- titles, like James Bond, Terminator, etc. etc. But the games don't seem to
- get any better because of that. If you take a look at the Addams family, you'd
- notice that the game is much more alike the game than the film - or the cult
- series. This is probaly because they wanted to sell it while the title still
- was hot, and then they won't have time to make a REAL game.
- Selling the games for a smaller amount of money will make better value for
- money, and more will buy. However, forgetting the hot titles and make GAMES
- instead, would make even more people buy. I guess the software market is too
- commerical as it is. Please don't make it any worse.
-
- And BTW; Does anyone out there have any old Fergus McNeill games for the
- good ol' Sinclair Spectrum??!? I'd love to buy them - for a reasonable
- price...
