-
- NO, it is not. Someone sent me email asking about the uniterm.tar.Z
- archive that was up on terminator, asking about what utilities were
- required to unpack it and so forth. (Tar and compress are, of course,
- available at atari.archive. Since they're not used for many other
- files on the archives, it's silly to have to download them and figure
- them out in order to use uniterm.tar.Z)
-
- Seeing as how zoo 2.1 is a standard archiver on various and sundry
- platforms, and works everywhere on Earth (other than perhaps certain
- parts of New Zealand :-)), I recv'ed uniterm.tar.Z, unpacked it, and
- put it up as a .zoo archive.
-
- As a .zoo archive, it should be more accessable to users that may not
- be familiar with the "UNIX Way of Doing Things."
-
- In terms of Uniterm versions, this is NOT the latest edition. The
- latest (and final, alas) version is 2.0e015. I'm running it, even as
- we speak.
-
- It is NOT available at atari.archive, and is not permitted to be. The
- copyright notice on this version states that people are not permitted
- to redistribute it to "other" ftp sites.
-
- What is now annoying is that I can't recall (or find) the name of the
- site at which it IS available. Archie isn't telling me anything much
- that's useful. Does anyone recall the name of the site where 2.0e015
- IS available? 2.0e011 seems to be easy to find at various sites.
-
- 2.0e015 was a final version incorporating a number of (unexplained)
- bug fixes. 011 seems to be the only stable version before 015.
-
- Apparently Simon Poole, the authour, is now busy programming Crays, (I
- saw a posting around comp.lang.fortran, or something of the sort a
- while back) and doesn't have too much time left over for ST work.
