- If you have a VGA monitor for the Falcon (you know, the one that plugs right
- into the port on the back :) then you can use ALL of the Falcon's display
- modes on the same monitor. This includes the 320x240, 320x480,640x240,
- 640x480, whatever all those modes are (I think there are like 16 modes or
- something). In addition, you can do all the normal ST modes (320x200,
- 640x200, 640x400) with no problems whatsoever. So, yes you can run both
- monochrome and color ST/STe software on a Falcon with one monitor (if it's
- a VGA monitor).
-
- Also, if you have such a VGA monitor, you'll get all the hi-res modes (like
- 640x480) non-interlaced -- if you have a TV or SC1224/SC1435/whatever, you'll
- get those modes interlaced. However, I think with a VGA monitor you lose
- one of the true-color modes because common VGA monitors can't handle the
- bandwidth or some such thing (please don't ask me to expand, I'm just
- repeating what I heard before... :-)
-
- Good luck!
