- My next computer, aside from a cheapo 520 to use as a terminal, will
- either be a Mac LC2 or a Falcon. Which one depends on several things -
- the availability of a detachable keyboard (I've grown used to typing with
- my keyboard in my lap from a recliner) - how good the graphics are - how
- well it multitasks (does it crash whilst running my favorite apps? And
- will new versions come out if they do?).
-
- The HD isn't much of a problem for me, as I intend to buy a small HD to
- run my BBS on, and put that on the old computer, and use my current 105MB
- HD... The monitor I already have (the BBS can run on a TV set). So my
- total cost would be perhaps $1100 for a Falcon.
-
- If I bought a Mac LC2, I'd be paying well over $2000 for a similar
- system, and I still wouldn't have the digital sound capabilities that I'd
- like to have.
-
- By the way, another post asked why so few people seem to like the GEM
- O/S... Mainly because it's only a short step better than MS-DOS, is my
- answer. MultiTOS, if it turns out nicely, will be far better than Sys7,
- which is, IMHO, a poor excuse for an OS. I would like to have a
- multi-user system, but... <sigh>
