- One thing I want to know is *why* everyone seems to equate sales with a good
- product, it has been shown many times over that what sells an item most is
- advertising and brand-name-loyalty, not quality. Take for example Microsoft
- products, OS/2 is far superior to Windows, yet Windows has more applications
- and sells *many times* more copies than does OS/2. IMHO, *all* Microsoft
- products suck, as in "bit the big one", you know, they "suck big hairy moose
- muscles". :-) OK, so, maybe you like Microsoft products, let all take *american
- cars!*, ooooh, now there's a touchy subject! You can't buy a true "american
- built" car (actually, many of them are made in Mexico) that can even come
- remotely close to the reliability of Honda, Toyota, or Nissan, yet the american
- cars continue to sell better. Even if *you* happen to love american cars, just
- like the majority of the population, that in no way makes them a *better*
- product.
-
- In general I've found that the most advertised and popular of products tend to
- be the ones I like the least. It is the innovative and original products from
- the smaller companies that actually excel, the others just seem to duplicate...
-
- Anyone else out there know what I mean?
