- i will upload a version of nroff to atari archive that does deal with
- fonts. i fear u may be using an old version of nroff (or macro package).
- look for file "nroff12b.zoo" in atari.archive.umich.edu:~ftp/atarist/new
- in the next day or two. note that this nroff is a reasonable subset of
- unix nroff but it lacks some key features. nroff12b.zoo will be binary
- only (with docs, macros, etc). basically what i use now.
-
- you will also need manpager to view the formatted documents. i posted
- a man program and someone else did as well (recently). u should be able
- to set the PAGER environment variable to manpager and have it work. note
- that this ONLY works with monochrome now (unless u make a set of fonts
- for med rez and rebuild manpager - source for nroff, manpager, and man
- has been posted).
-
- i also understand that someone is finishing a port of GNU groff to the
- ST. this should do everything (but then again it will undoubtedly be HUGE).
- that's the basic tradeoff. i wrote nroff basically to handle manpages
- and simple -ms documents (no tbl, eqn, pic, graph, etc). groff has all
- of these.
