  19. Granted, the Mac operating system has its quirks (don't they all?), but
  20. I think you will have a hard time showing that its quirkiness comes close
  21. to rivaling that of TOS.  The ease of use and the standardized menu of
  22. most applications is probably one of the main reasons that the Mac
  23. clobbers the Atari line in sales of machines in spite of the huge
  24. price differential (actually the price differential is narrowing
  25. quickly).

  29. In today's New York Times, there is an ad from J&R Music World
  30. for a Mac Classic II for $1199.  For that you get:

  32. 68030-16mhz mpu
  33. 4mb RAM
  34. 40mb hard disk
  35. keyboard
  36. (hi rez mono monitor built in)

  38. That is $400 more than the indicated price of the Falcon and for
  39. that extra money you get 3mb more RAM, monitor, hard disk, and
  40. stable system software.  ...not to mention the thousands of software
  41. titles available off the shelf (instead of hunting all over town for
  42. a music store with a few game titles).
