- BTW: Someone else did something like that, but just used a 9V battery
- to replace the voltage out of the phone jack, 'don't remember the
- polarity, but I think it was just a two line cord between the computers
- with the battery across the line.
- While I'm on the topic of connections; I finally found my xl schematic after
- being missplaced for a year or two. To my suprise the NOT CS lines for
- The $D600 & $D700 areas are already decoded! In other words, if you just
- want to map a chip like a 6551 or 6520 into the system, the decoding is
- there so you just have to pick the right pin off the 74LS138 for !CS. What
- was even more interesting for me was the way the 74LS138 was implemented you
- could easily bend out 2 pins, piggy back another '138, attach just two
- address lines & end up with all the existing hardware chips decoded to the
- bottom half of their memory page & add up to an additional 8 devices. I don't
- know of any software that doesn't use the first available address vs the
- repeated locations so it should be safe. Anyway, if anybody wants another
- 'verbose' how to for it, let me know.
