  12.     I recently ahd a problem on my GS after installing ORCA/C on my hard
  13. disk. I set "SetStart" to the ORCA shell. The system would boot fine.
  14. When I would "quit" from the shell, I would get a message stating 
  15. "Finder needs GS/OS 6.0 or later". I would hit return and the dialog would
  16. pop up asking which application to run. But it would crash befor finishing.

  18.     I booted without inits/DAs and the same thing happened. I then got out
  19. the original system 6 disks, and they booted fine. Conclusion: some system
  20. dependent file, on my hard drive, is corrupted. I then copied the original
  21. system disk to my RamFactor. I booted into ORCA shell again. I have a "cmp"
  22. shell command which I got from the unix system here, which I used to do
  23. byte compares of all of the main system files. The problem turned out to 
  24. be TOOL018. I replaced this TOOL and the system now works fine.

  26.     My problem now is why TOOL018 got corrupted!!! If anyone has any guess,
  27. or info, or anything else, let me know. I am not sure what TOOL018 provides.
