  13. I now have an Appleworks database setup to accommodate the file 'abstract'
  14. suggestion Larry Virden offered for CCO.CALTECH.EDU.  The database
  15. structure includes:

  17. Program:         <the 'real' program name>
  18. Version:         <self explanatory>
  19. Hardware req'd:         "
  20. Software req'd:         "
  21. Location:        <the full directory pathname where the file resides>
  22. Filename:        <the storage name used at CCO>
  23. Filesize:        <self explanatory>
  24. Author:                 "
  25. Date:            <either date posted or date of the program, if available>
  26. Rem:             <one line description of program>
  27. Keywords:        <category or type description - for database users>

  29. Now we need some volunteers to help fill in the blanks in the first four
  30. and last four fields.  I downloaded the FILELIST text file from CCO.CALTECH
  31. and used it to fill in the Location, Filename, Filesize, and Date posted
  32. information already.  Rather than post the file in its current, sparse
  33. configuration I would prefer to E-Mail copies of it only to those who would
  34. like to help fill it in and post the completed file later.  The plan is to
  35. post both the database itself and a text file version for non-Appleworks
  36. users.  If you're interested in helping, please send E-Mail direct to me
  37. and I'll forward a Binscii'd copy of the database to you.  I'll accept any
  38. amount of help -- even if you're only able to provide the info on one or
  39. two files.
