- I now have an Appleworks database setup to accommodate the file 'abstract'
- suggestion Larry Virden offered for CCO.CALTECH.EDU. The database
- structure includes:
-
- Program: <the 'real' program name>
- Version: <self explanatory>
- Hardware req'd: "
- Software req'd: "
- Location: <the full directory pathname where the file resides>
- Filename: <the storage name used at CCO>
- Filesize: <self explanatory>
- Author: "
- Date: <either date posted or date of the program, if available>
- Rem: <one line description of program>
- Keywords: <category or type description - for database users>
-
- Now we need some volunteers to help fill in the blanks in the first four
- and last four fields. I downloaded the FILELIST text file from CCO.CALTECH
- and used it to fill in the Location, Filename, Filesize, and Date posted
- information already. Rather than post the file in its current, sparse
- configuration I would prefer to E-Mail copies of it only to those who would
- like to help fill it in and post the completed file later. The plan is to
- post both the database itself and a text file version for non-Appleworks
- users. If you're interested in helping, please send E-Mail direct to me
- and I'll forward a Binscii'd copy of the database to you. I'll accept any
- amount of help -- even if you're only able to provide the info on one or
- two files.
