- This Technical Note formerly discussed a bug involving buffering and serial
- port setting commands in the modem firmware in ROM 1.0.

-
- Apple IIGS ROM 2.0 fixes a bug involving buffering and serial port setting
- commands in the modem firmware. You should not have to write a special
- case
- to handle this bug since it is reasonable to expect users to have the
- updated
- ROM which is offered as a free upgrade from Apple.

-
- Was such a beast ever available?
-
- Also, has anyone out there purchased the new Zoom V32/V42.bis 9600 modem
- WITHOUT Fax? If so, have you been able to get the handshaking portion to
- work properly with yer GS.... I am using PT3, and get downloads from
- 965-1022cps.... but it barfs on uploads, if I attempt to use any protocol
- faster than regular Ymodem 1K.....
-
- I contacted the folks at Insync... and was told by their tech support that
- their modem cable, and the current software drivers will work perfectly
- (what a laugh!!!) especially, since they admitted that they did not even
- try the new modem out and have not written a specific driver for it.....
-
- However, I have had the same problem with different cable configurations,
- and different software, so it must be related to the GS itself....
-
- Also, several of my friends are using the Supra 14.4 modems, with no
- problems......
-
- Any ideas? Suggestions? Uploading at 600cps is the pits!
