- My IIGS has been acting very strangely lately. I'm pretty sure my
- accelerator is the problem (TWGS 7 MHz, 8K cache), but want to know if anyone
- else has these problems.
-
- Sometimes when I start up, the drives all come on, the screen goes nuts, and
- the system won't start. I have to power down and wait a while before I can
- start up. Sometimes this happens ten or twenty times before the system will
- start up. Then I often run into this problem (which happens much more often):
-
- The system starts to boot, then crashes into apparently random locations in
- $00/Cxxx. This will happen repeatedly, at different addresses... sometimes
- even after powering down.
-
- I also sometimes lose all 4Mb of memory in my GS-RAM + card, and get the
- "GS/OS needs more memory than you have" message at boot time.
-
- The first problem will sometimes happen while I'm using the machine, too.
-
- These problems are getting more and more common, and are just starting to go
- from a mild annoyance to really ticking me off. I'd buy a Zip, but can't
- afford it... :(
-
- Any ideas? I've had the TWGS for three years now.
