- The following is a problem that a friend of mine is having
- on his Apple IIGS. He is getting mixed results on different systems
- that have the same configuration.
-
- System: Apple II GS
- Software: Where in the World is Carmen Sandiego
- (2 3.5" disks for the GS)
-
- Same two disks A & B run on one computer but freeze up on another.
- Control panels are all configured exactly the same, including RAMDISK = 0K.
-
- Boot system with program disks, switching and exchanging disks when
- prompted. Program goes through initial welcome, sign-in, etc., checks
- into previous "case" file, retrieves previous case file to start work
- where left off. Select one option to show 3/4 destinations in a box;
- then sleect option to show clues. Then click on one of the clue locations
- (museums, airport, etc.), and it blows up. Cannot imput; the only thing
- you get is mouse trail of squares. Have checked memory available and
- memory in use in the control panel at multiple points on a machine that
- fails and one that runs and for all intents and purposes, they are the
- same. They run about +/- 525K and +/- 650K -- don't remember which was
- which ( in use vs available).
-
- System checks Good on a self-check.
-
- Software company says program needs 1 meg memory to run.
-
- Thank you in advance for any help you are able to provide.
