- I have a few questions about SCSI cards (namely the RamFast
- and the Apple DMA SCSI cards). Now I know the RF is faster
- but how versatile is it with SCSI devices other than a hard
- drive? (I know it can handle tape drives). What about
- scanners, CD-ROM, Flopticals, others....
- I don't plan on getting any of these devices (well maybe a floptical
- eventually!) but if I were to get another SCSI device it seens
- to me that going with the Apple DMA SCSI card is a safer bet in
- getting a card that will work with a device (i.e., drivers are
- more likely to be written for the Apple card than the RF).
-
- I very well could be wrong. I haven't researched this area
- extensively (the whole reason for the questions!). However, I
- do plan on getting a new SCSI card in the future and also wil
- be getting a ZIPGS card (prbably the cheapest-- 7MHz,8Kb). So,
- I want a SCSI card with more speed than my Rev. C card AND one
- that will not hurt performance too much (i.e., create a bottleneck)
- when I do get my accelerator card.
-
- Well, any comments?
