- Hello people - its feiges here
-
- I have a question regarding binscii...
-
- When I get an apple IIGS file from an FTP site, I download it to my account -
- and then I download it to my computer with z-modem - and then I have
- to use the program BINSCII to convert this program to a shrinkit file, and
- then I have to use shrinkit to unshrink the file...
-
- Okay, perfect - except for one thing:
-
- A Binscii file is like double the size of a regular file......
-
- What I was wondering was - if theere was a way to un-binscii a file ON MY
- UNIX ACCOUNT - before downloading..... so then I can download the program
- in half the time adn not have to worry about using more disk space --- etc..
-
- I know for the macintosh - I have this UNIX utility called mcvert - which
- will take a macintosh binscii'd file and then convert it to a MacBinary
- file - which then downloads into my Mac with the proper filetype and icon
- and everything.........
-
- Is there something similar that will unbinscii a file for the GS on unix??
-
- uudecode doesnt seem to do it.......
-
- coolish - please get back to me:
