- I have been reading quite a few messages here and on other groups
- about font-sensitive interfaces. I am pretty confused, so could
- someone out there plese clear these things up:
-
- If I open a window on the workbench screen, which font should I
- use? (Screen->Font, GfxBase->DefaultFont, or the other user-
- selectable font from Font Prefs)
-
- Why do people keep saying GadToolsBox does not work? I just used
- it to give it a try, and it seemed to work fine. I used topaz 8
- on a 640x200 screeen to design the interface, and it has plenty
- of gadgets, grouped by functionality, enclosed in BevelBoxes.
- When I open the same window with a larger font, GTB scales the
- whole interface, so of course everything fits, and looks roughly
- the same. If my font is ridiculously large, and my screen is not,
- it reverts back to topaz 8.
-
- ^^^This is, of course, kind of a pain in the butt, and takes up
- a bit of code, but the point is, it does work.
-
- Is Commodore working on any sort of gadtools/BOOPSI solution to
- this font size/GUI mess? I.E., automatically scaling your gadgets
- and window according to the font size versus the size of topaz 8.
-
- What to people think of applications that require/want a specific
- font (e.g., FishCat and GRn)?
-
- Thanks,
- -B
