- I've got a really good idea.
-
- Why don't all amiga 'C' programmers march on Borland int. head office
- and demand a version of their brilliant 'C++' compiler be made for the amiga?
-
- Why is it that our 'C' environment is still limited to the standard Shell with
- a third party editor (Unless you can stand using LSE). Why can't someone bring
- out a nice full-interactive, 2.04, font-sensitive, style guide conformant
- 'C++' compiler for the amiga, that makes programming a joy. If anyone has ever
- seen Borland 'C++' or Borland 'C++' for windows, they will probably know what
- i'm talking about. Even something nice like the Devpak Assembler editor would
- be acceptable. We have to settle for unforgiving command line arguments and
- excuses for a text editor (Namely LSE V5.10a).
-
- What I'm trying to get at is, OS 2.0 is here, it's waiting, it's an
- operating system with a nice standard GUI and makes making GUI's alot easier,
- yet the amiga seems to be SADLY lacking in a good interactive compiler. You
- know, one with a nice little guage that fills up as it compiles, a listview
- that shows all your errors back on the main editor screen. As you click on each
- one, it loads each module file and jumps to the respecive line numbers. A
- source-level debugger that allows you to view strucutres as 'trees' and you
- just point and click at a member to watch it happening.
-
- This is all just mindless dreaming, but I really think that there are
- enough serious amiga developers out there to warrent a BIG company like Borland
- to produce one of there legendary products for our Amiga's. 'Borland C++ for
- Amiga' has a REAL nice ring to it.
-
- So how about SAS/C 6.0? Does anyone have it? Can anyone comment on it?
- Is it a BIG improvment?
