- You've got to be kidding me. The ultimate assembler on any platform has got
- to be macro68. It makes all the above look like toys. The only one that even
- deserves to be mentioned in the same sentence is devpak III, and even that is
- severely lacking when compared to the new version of macro68. Plus looking at
- HiSoft's track record as far as updates go, doesn't give me any confidence in
- picking up Devpak 3. Better to go with macro68 where they're constantly doing
- updates and adding new features. Definitely the most feature packed assembler
- around, with very good assembly speed too. It's not a speed demon like
- ArgAsm, but it does a lot more too, and still gives decent speeds.
-
- The only drawback is that it's a bit expensive considering that prg's like
- asmone are shareware/PD. You can currently purchase macro68 for $150 US from
- the puzzle factory who distribute it here. Then again, compared to other
- commercial compilers/assemblers, (particularly on other platforms), the price
- is very reasonable.
