- Well, a lot of people have asked this very question, and it has been
- answered in other groups. But I have a suggestion to add, so here
- goes:
-
- It is rather easy to write a program which queries the graphics
- database and prints the results. You can do this with the existing
- 2.04 materials.
-
- Once any user gets his/her hands on an A4000 for a few minutes, said
- user can launch all the Monitor programs, and then launch this
- hypothetical Query program, saving the result to floppy. The
- resulting file would be the definitive answer. (It would also be a
- very LONG answer.) The nice thing about this approach is
- that you don't even need to have the appropriate monitor
- attached to see all the specifications...
-
- The more enterprising programmer can add an option to actually display
- these screens, and the even more patient user can sit and watch them
- all :-) The only caution here is that it can take quite a while to go
- through all the monitor/mode combinations, even for only the V37
- (2.04) modes. (Just look at the V37 <graphics/displayinfo.h> for a
- rough idea of just how many I'm talking about.)
-
- (Admittedly, this suggestion is more appropriate for the
- csa.programmer group, but some enterprising person out there may find
- it useful :-)
