- Tim's column should have said "free of hourly charges" not "free of charge."
- Portal is a commercial system and you still need to signup and pay the
- monthly fee of US$13.95 to access it. Call 1-408-973-9111 to do so.
- The Customer Service reps will be happy to explain it to you.

- If you join Portal, then you will be able to access it via your
- existing internet account, 24 hours a day, even at 9600 or 14.4Kbps,
- with NO hourly charges. Just the flat $13.95/month. That's it.
- This gets you everything on Portal except the Clarinet/UPI news
- hierarchy (additional $4/month) and our Internet Services menu..
- but since you already have an internet account, then you should already
- have access to FTP, IRC, etc on your existing account.
