- At the risk of sounding like a certain well-known NRA slogan: CPUs don't
- support virtual memory. Operating systems support virtual memory.

- What the 68010 supports is page faulting, which you need in order to
- implement VM in your OS (unless you want to run everything on a virtual
- CPU, I suppose). A PMMU isn't *absolutely* necessary -- you could, I
- imagine, sorta emulate one in the OS software, if you wanted your machine
- to run slower than ENIAC. I wouldn't try it.

- Not unless they were specifically designed to measure an increase, no. I
- liked the speedup I got from my 68010; the minor speed increase was worth
- the minor trouble and expense. To me. It's hard to tell it's there unless
- you know it is, though.
