- Howdy Folks -
-
- I've got a rather interesting problem printing text to the PRT: device (or PAR:
- for that matter) from my Amiga 3000. Graphics dumping works fine (at least
- from DPIV), but trying, for instance, 'dir > prt:' never fails to bring back
- that old flashing power LED and the inimitable Guru Meditation, always with a
- different CPU trap.
-
- The strange part is that printing worked fine at home with the exact same
- programs in WBStartup and the startup-sequence, but it stopped working when I
- brought my computer up to school. And even more bizarrely, text printing worked
- fine when I booted up with an original WB 2.04 floppy.
-
- Printing works fine from ProWrite 3.2.4.
-
- Contents of WBStartup:
-
- ToolManager, Iconify, Spliner, WindX, IHelp, ClickToFront, CpuBlit, Exchange.
-
- Additional startup progs:
-
- Nickprefs, reqchange
-
- Any help would be greatly appreciated, since I would like to be able to print
- out a directory once in a while... :-)
-
- I thought 2.04 was supposed to be Guru free... I guess it was since C= took
- 'Guru' out of the error message. But I fooled them - I've still got kickstart
- on the hardrive, and I newzaped it and returned the Guru! Perhaps there was a
- reason that they took it out... :-)
-
-
- Thanks for any help.
