- Or maybe you don't own a 68000 based Amiga. You don't say.
-
- This is all the result of an odd address being returned by Intuition,
- and a stupid program assuming that address is a legal pointer.
-
- It causes an exception on the 68000, not on the 68030. It's also
- somewhat random, cause Intuition might actually return something that
- the 68000 considers valid.
-
- This was all discussed over the summer in somewhat gruesome detail, and
- I believe it was decided that this is a feature of AmigaDOS 2.04 that
- will help force software developers to write decent code once they find
- all of their 500/2000 owning users start complaining about random crashes.
-
- There have been rumors of a new Setpatch from CBM that will help relieve
- many of these problems. It is supposedly in v2.05 and v2.1 of AmigaDOS,
- but I'm not aware that it's been released to dealers yet.
-
-
-
-
- In the meantime, would you peoples stop arguing:
- "It works!"
- "Does not!"
- "Does to!"
-
- Or at least provide some useful data regarding your machines configuration.
