- The 68040 has been a rude surprise for many system design
- groups. The 68040 interface is significantly different from
- previous 680x0 generations. Sometimes, either significant
- development is expended developing a backwards compatible
- interface or existing designs are scrapped. It might not be
- easy or efficient to continue to use the A3000 SCSI interface.
