- Most users wont ever need anything more than 8 bit 4 channel sound. Having
- said that, the new chipset has more than enough bandwidth and free timeslots
- for 16 channel 8 bit sound or 8 channel 16 bit sound. Expect it.

- There will probably be a new paula with enhanced audio and disk dma. The
- problem with real HD drives is that you need twice as many timeslots. If they
- have to be evenly spaced, that places the extra timeslot right in the middle of
- video dma. The only way around this would be to have the new paula chip have
- a double buffer in it, and grab both bits of data before scan start. Or use
- the extra bus width.

-
- Yes it does, but it is a special mechanism,, costs twice as much as any other
- HD drive, and runs at half the speed of a real HD drive. A new paula chip
- would be nice. Remember C= will neew future expansions to keep the ball
- rolling. (and the cash flowing. new development like these cost $$$$$)

-
- True, but most people don't need better audio, especially when the new lower
- range machines come out with the same chipset. The HD drives may be a problem,
- but they can sell the same mechanism to 3 million current owners. ($$$)
