- I think I may be having a CIA chip problem. Could someone remind me of
- the symptoms when a CIA chip is going/gone? Is there any software that
- will check the chips? I've run SysInfo and according to it there are
- 0 timing errors with CIA(A).
-
- Here are the two problems I've found: DF1 will not read or write disks.
- It's been like this for a long while and I had been thinking it was
- out of alignment. But I just installed an Amax II+ and while it runs
- fine the first time it is booted, any subsequent boot ends in an error.
- If I pull the floppy cable it runs again (until it tries to find a
- drive). The REadySoft manual suggests that CIA chips can cause this
- problem.
-
- Please email if you know anyway to check the CIA chips or if you have
- ideas about what may be up here. Thanks...
