  24. Long ago there used to be a LOT of discussion on this topic. I put a 68010 in
  25. my A1000 about four years ago and have never had any trouble (except for a
  26. few older games that had problems). You need an extra exception handler like
  27. DeciGel or SuperDeciGel to trap an exception that can occur on a 68010 that
  28. would not occur on a 68k (more details if you wish, but if you load
  29. SuperDeciGel in your startup you won't have any problems).

  31. My personal experience with the performance increase has shown about
  32. 5% to 7% at most over a 68k. Depending on what you're doing it may be
  33. as low as 3%.

  35. BUT, it is an increase, and 68010s are pretty cheap these days. The upgrade
  36. is as simple as popping out the 68k and plugging the 68010 in its place.
