-
- I have an A2232 and have had problems opening the ports on the expansion
- card.
-
- The first time I issue and OpenDevice call after a reboot, the process
- is hung, until another OpenDevice call is made (from another process).
- When the second call is launched, both calls return and everything works
- okay. Please don't ask me why.
-
- As a consequence, I made a small C program (called SetSerial, due to lack
- of imagination), that initializes a unit with the SDCMD_SETPARAMS command.
- I run it (using the run command) in my Startup-Sequence, for each of the
- ports I use frequently. You can have a copy if you want, but it's nothing
- special, really.
-
- I don't know if you're experiencing the same phenomenon, but that may be the
- case. My configuration is :-
-
- Amiga 2000A (Gosh, are they still around? :-)
- A2630 with 2 Megs of 32 bit RAM
- Kronos HD Controller from C Ltd. (Now gone bust) with a Maxtor LXT340SY
- Supra RAM card with additional 2 Megs of "FAST" RAM
- A2232 Serial card
- WB2.04 with ZKick (I'm upgrading to ROM in three weeks)
