  22. I have an A2232 and have had problems opening the ports on the expansion
  23. card.

  25. The first time I issue and OpenDevice call after a reboot, the process
  26. is hung, until another OpenDevice call is made (from another process).
  27. When the second call is launched, both calls return and everything works
  28. okay.  Please don't ask me why.

  30. As a consequence, I made a small C program (called SetSerial, due to lack
  31. of imagination), that initializes a unit with the SDCMD_SETPARAMS command.
  32. I run it (using the run command) in my Startup-Sequence, for each of the
  33. ports I use frequently.  You can have a copy if you want, but it's nothing
  34. special, really.

  36. I don't know if you're experiencing the same phenomenon, but that may be the
  37. case.  My configuration is :-

  39.   Amiga 2000A (Gosh, are they still around? :-)
  40.   A2630 with 2 Megs of 32 bit RAM
  41.   Kronos HD Controller from C Ltd. (Now gone bust) with a Maxtor LXT340SY
  42.   Supra RAM card with additional 2 Megs of "FAST" RAM
  43.   A2232 Serial card
  44.   WB2.04 with ZKick (I'm upgrading to ROM in three weeks)
